The slot-type photoelectric switch is a commonly used detection component in automated equipment. The selection of output type directly affects the signal stability and the compatibility of the equipment. Below, we clearly explain two commonly used output types to help you make a quick selection.

  • PNP Open-Drain Type (Low-Level Effective)

  • When an object is detected, the output terminal is grounded, and the signal changes from a high level to a low level. It is suitable for automated production lines, logic control, and other scenarios that require triggering and conduction. It can stably adapt to PLC and other low-level trigger circuits.

  • PNP Closed-Drain Type (High-Level Effective)

  • When an object is detected, the output terminal is connected to the positive terminal of the power supply, and the signal changes from a low level to a high level. It is mostly used in precision instruments, signal output, motor control systems, and other occasions that require a stable high level.

Choosing the correct output type for the slot-type photoelectric switch is essential for ensuring stable signals and reliable operation of the equipment.

Rihuan Sensor offers a full range of slot-type photoelectric switches, including PNP/NPN types, with options for both normally open and normally closed. These switches have strong anti-interference capabilities, fast response, and are compatible with various PLCs and automation equipment, ensuring precise detection on the production line.
